How do I configure my Disqus account to work with my Website Builder?

Updated: 2026/08/05Viewed times: 39160

Our Website Builder uses Disqus for our blog comments. Disqus is a blog comment hosting service that helps you engage your audience, retain your readers, and see your success. Disqus is already installed on all of our Website Builders, but you will also need to create an account and set it up it within your Website Builder as well. To get started, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Disqus website and select your plan (Basic is free) to get started;
  2. Set organization, website name, select your category and press the "Create Site" button. Please note that this "website name" will be your website Shortname and cannot be changed after.
  3. Jump to "3. Configure Disqus", as Disqus is already installed on our website builder platform.
  4. Enter your website name and website URL.
  5. Complete the related settings and press the "Next" button.
  6. Select for Comment and Moderation Settings, and click on "Complete Setup".
  7. Enter your website Shortname in your Dynadot Website Builder blog settings. The path is "Website Builder" --> "Blog" --> "Blog Settings" --> "Disqus Forum Short Name".

Your blog comments should work after some time. If you're unsure about the shortname, you can locate it by "Sites"--> "Edit Settings" within your Disqus account.
