Domain Aftermarket Search FAQs
Enter a domain name or keyword into the search bar at the top of this page to see whether the name is available to register, already taken, or listed for sale through Dynadot's aftermarket. If a domain is unavailable, Dynadot may also show related sales options such as marketplace listings or broker-assisted acquisition.
If your desired domain is listed on sale, you'll see on which auction it is on, and you can go ahead and buy it right away (if the price is fixed and listed on user listing), bid for it, or hire a broker.
Based on the keywords you entered, you'll get options with the keywords you entered with different TLDs (we offer around 600 different TLDs).
This search flow helps buyers compare registration opportunities with secondary-market options in one place. The aftermarket is the market for domains that are already registered and being resold by their current owner or through auction channels.
This page (Dynadot domain search page) lets users search across more than 600 domain extensions, including common extensions such as .com as well as many newer and niche TLDs. A TLD (top-level domain) is the extension at the end of a domain name, such as .com, .net, or .io.
Depending on the search result, you may find:
- Domains available for immediate registration
- Taken domains
- Premium or aftermarket opportunities tied to resale inventory or broker options
Use the "TLD" filter in the aftermarket search and select the extensions you want to see, then apply the filter to narrow the results. Dynadot’s search tools also support TLD-focused filtering in bulk search.
Listing types identify how a domain entered Dynadot’s aftermarket, such as seller-listed inventory, expired inventory, or auction inventory. You can narrow results by using the "Listing Type" filter in the aftermarket search.
Common listing types include:
- Marketplace: Seller-listed domains offered at a set price
- User Auctions: Domains listed for auction by the owner
- Expired Auctions: Domains auctioned after the registrant did not renew them
- Backorder Auctions: Domains that received multiple backorders and moved to auction
- Closeouts: Unsold expired domains offered at a declining fixed price
- Last Chance Auctions: Domains re-auctioned after a prior completion issue
These categories matter because pricing structure, transfer timing, renewal status, and bidding dynamics can differ by listing type.
