Whether you want to back up your site for peace of mind, move it somewhere new, bring in a WordPress site you already love, or restore a previous Dynasites snapshot—you're totally covered.

Export as a handy ZIP file, import with ease, or bring back an old favorite in just a few clicks. Your website, your way—and it's all super simple! 🚀

1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
2. From the left-side menu, select Dynasites, then select Site Builder.
3. Click Edit Site next to the website you want to manage.
4. In the Website Builder, select Website Builder from the left-hand toolbar, then click Settings.
5. Scroll down and select Export & Import.
6. Under Export Website, select an export type:
   • Full Site Export — Exports your website as a ZIP package, including your site configuration, pages, media, and website files.
   • Static HTML Export — Exports your website as static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related files.
7. Click Start Export.

The export process will display its progress. When the export is complete, a Download ZIP button will appear. Click Download ZIP to save the exported file.

Note: The download link for an exported website is available for 7 days. We recommend downloading the file promptly and keeping a backup in a secure location.

You can import a website from WordPress or restore a website using a Dynasites export package.

1. Go to Settings > Export & Import in Website Builder.
2. Under Import Website, select the import source:
   • WordPress — Upload a WordPress XML export file.
   • This Platform (Dynasites) — Upload a ZIP package previously exported from Dynasites.
3. Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click the upload area to select a file.

The maximum import file size is 200 MB.

Note: WordPress Import

WordPress imports use the WordPress XML export file. Website content and supported media are processed during the import, and media files are saved to your website with their URLs updated where necessary.

Dynasites Import

When importing a Dynasites export package, the system verifies the package before starting the import. If the file is invalid or corrupted, an error message will be displayed and the import will not proceed.

Import and Export Errors

If an export or import fails, an error message will be displayed to help identify the problem. Depending on the error, you may be able to retry the operation.

If an operation is interrupted, temporary files created during the process are automatically cleaned up. This helps prevent incomplete files from affecting future import or export operations.
