Expired Domain Auctions

Every domain has an expiration date based on its registration length. If not renewed by then, it enters a renewal grace period (usually 40 days), during which you can still renew it.

After that comes the redemption period, where renewal costs more and recovery isn’t guaranteed. To avoid losing your domain, renew before or during the grace period. Learn more in our blog post on the domain expiration process.

If a domain isn’t renewed, reclaimed during the redemption period, or won in an expired domain auction, it becomes available for general registration again.

This typically happens about 5 days after the redemption period ends, and the domain can then be registered through a regular domain search.

Joining in on our auctions is simple. You will need a Dynadot account (creating one is free), at least $5 as your Dynadot account balance or have made a $5 purchase on Dynadot within the last year, and you must not be banned from participating in our aftermarket platform. You can add $5 of prepay to your account to meet the $5 qualification.

To bid over $2000+, you must deposit 5% of the bid amount. If you win the auction and chose not to pay, this deposit be forfeited as a non payment fee.
