What is the difference between a variant and an option in our Website Builder store manager?

Our Website Builder store manager allows you to add multiple variants and options for your products. Remember you must have a Pro Plan in order to gain access to our store manager feature.

An Option refers to a characteristic of a product that can vary — like color or size.
For example:

  • Color = Red, Blue

  • Size = Small, Medium, Large

A Variant is a specific version of the product created by combining different options.
For example:

  • A red, small t-shirt

  • A blue, medium t-shirt

Each of those combinations is a variant.

So, if a T-shirt is available in two colors (red and blue) and three sizes (Small, Medium, Large), this results in six distinct variants: Small Red, Medium Red, Large Red, Small Blue, Medium Blue, and Large Blue.
Please note that, to create variants, you need to define at least one option (like color) first.

How do I add different options and variants of the same product?
